# Latest Sightings

> Latest Sightings is a Southern African wildlife media and real-time sightings platform. It helps people discover, share, and follow real wildlife sightings. It also develops Ting Vision, an AI-assisted wildlife camera system that detects animals, sends alerts, and saves captured sightings.

Latest Sightings publishes real wildlife activity rather than staged encounters. Wildlife is unpredictable, and neither Latest Sightings nor Ting Vision guarantees that an animal will appear.

Ting Vision connects to compatible wildlife-facing camera feeds and checks the scene for visible animals. Depending on the setup, it can send WhatsApp alerts and save captured sightings in a secure member dashboard.

Dahua Technology is a Ting Vision technology partner. Ting Vision pairs Dahua camera technology with its wildlife detection, alerts, and sighting tools for wildlife-facing installations.

Ting Vision is designed for lodges, reserves, private wildlife properties, and other places with a wildlife-facing view. Hardware, permissions, alerts, camera controls, and publishing options vary between installations.

The word "ting" is short for a sighting. Use "Ting Vision" when referring to the product. A "ting" may refer to a wildlife sighting, alert, or detected moment.
