This week, we shared a sighting of a male lion that the world has grown to love, Dark Mane.
He was a Nothern Avoca male lion.
Dark Mane found himself caught in amongst a herd of buffaloes, after a failed attempt at hunting them with the rest of his pride.
He was able to survive a few days after the incident but now has, sadly, succumbed to the wounds. He spent his last moments on the property in the Sabi Sands known as Simbambili.
He was seen this evening being eaten by a clan of spotted hyenas.
