Latest Sightingss has just learned that Skukuza Rest Camp is experiencing a fuel shortage. The camp lies in the southern section of South Africa’s Kruger National Park.

As seen on the SANParks -Kruger National Park Facebook page, the Skukuza Filling Station is currently without Diesel Fuel.

Updates pending

The park’s fuel supplier, Total Energies, has undertaken to update management regarding the next delivery.

As a result of the shortage, staff are asking visitors and suppliers to fill up with diesel en route to the camp. Ideally, fill up before entering the park in case the situation expands.

The public should note that at this time, the shortage only affects diesel fuel. No information suggest that petrol shortages exist within the park.

Isolated shortage

According to the government and industry bodies, there are no widespread shortage of either diesel or petrol in South Africa.

Furthermore, recent global fuel price increases appear unconnected to the diesel shortage.

Should any further updates be received, Latest Sightings will inform readers promptly.

If you are travelling to Kruger, be sure to enquire about the availability of fuel at the park entrance gates.
